So today, was my normal morning routine. We had class again at 10 as usual. After class, we had about 30 minutes until our next big event, a movie called Jiro dreams of Sushi. It was a documentary about a word famous sushi chef. Best part about the movie, we watched it with about 6 to 10 college students (again, it was oddly only girls, do guys not do anything in Japan or what?). A little bit before and a lot after, we were socializing with these students, most of us are now facebook friends too! After standing around talking for half an hour to an hour after the movie, I joined two of the students and three of my friends heading back to the station. We rode the train together as far as Nishi-Funabashi. I decided to give my first gift of one of them (the other had already left to grab something from a store) because it was a piece of chocolate with the space needle on it and she had never heard of it. We also decided that we should meet up again for ramen at some point before we all leave.
On my way back to the dorm, Max and I saw what looked like a recent accident where a small truck had hit an old woman. After some awkward delay, we decided to go help a few other people try to redirect traffic while we waited for an ambulance to show up. I would have tried to somehow help more, but there is such a language barrier in regards to medical or bodily things that neither of us could even ask knowing that we would understand none of the response. I returned to my dorm, had dinner, then left once more. This time, I decided to wander the city a bit. I took the Tozai line to Otemachi then started walking around. I went to the Imperial palace at night (few lights so not too exciting). I then continued walking with the end destination being Tokyo tower (about a 30 minute to an hour walk) through a major business center (I saw companies like Hitachi and the like). As I said, I ended up at Tokyo tower which is nicely lit up at night. I took a train back to Nishi-kasai then and have been in my room since (I got back around 10:30). I talked to people, but I still need to make more of an effort with talking to new people more.
Also, sounds like I am going to be visiting a public high school on Wednesday! This has been one thing that I have always wanted to do in Japan, The sacrifice is, because of this, I will be missing another big event with college students at Meikai and part of class.
